Element Tuning Dry Sump Oiling System $2899+
Element Tuning has put together an incredible dry sump oiling system for your Subaru. If you’re suffering from spun crank/rod bearings, trouble managing your built motor’s blow by, oil consumption, or just want to protect your huge investment in your built motor here is the solution!
You would be surprised at how affordable this complete system is as it's similar to some partial kits on the market. The dry sump is as plug and play as a dry sump system can really be. We sell it as a 100% complete kit (approximately $3799) or minus hoses and hose fittings ($2899).
We use a combination of ARE parts, Aviad, Aeroquip, Element, and some trimmings here and there (different belt) depending on how the tank will be mounted (cage, etc).
Adding this to our engine package on this race car was the best thing I've done in a long time! I burned up 3 motors since building our new race car which has way more grip than our last car due to
improvements in our custom BC coilovers and the Fulcrum Aeroworks rear wing. The whole system just solves the oil starvation issue everyone gets at this level and on top of this it also solves excessive oil blow-by caused by loose rings or the fact that the oil sits in the heads around high g turns (which in turn pumps it into your catch can).
I run only the OEM oil cooler and now with this dry sump it holds 8 quarts of oil with the tank only half full (This is the proper way to set the system up so the tank acts as an air/oil separator to not only allow the engine to breath via this tank, capturing blow by oil, but also so the air can escape from the oil before returning to the oil pump.
I also really put this system to the test a few weekends ago with a big off that smashed the splitter mount against the oil line pushing it right against the header burning a hole in the oil line. Because the two port scavenging pump has two separate chambers it will not lose suction if one line or pump fails. We had spare -12 socketless hose handy and were able to make an easy trackside repair by heating the hose ends up in the engine compartment and slipping the fittings on.
For the guys that have already purchased the dry sump from us I've told them all, if you can afford it, there is no downside to running a dry sump. For many of our customers who track their car and have $10k+ in a built engine it's a sound investment.
Here's the dry sump kit installed on a 2008+ STi.
In this application we were able to install the dry sump tank in the passenger fender well/bumper cover. Sweet! For 2008+ applications a different OEM AC/Alternator bracket is required.
Element Tuning Dry Sump Kits are built to order so please allow adequate time. We can accomodate any setup and also offer options so if you need further assistance don't hesitate to contact us and ask.
